Michael Smith is the CEO of the Greater Valdosta United Way and is a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Michael graduated from Valdosta High School in 99 and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Valdosta State University. He enjoys spending time with his family and jogging, traveling, and exploring state parks. Michael continuously serves in local leadership positions on nonprofit and state boards and was a successful local retail business owner for many years. He is passionate about serving the citizens of Lowndes County. He strives to inspire positive change and growth in our region while being fiscally responsible so Lowndes County can continue to be the Capital of South Georgia.
Commissioner Smith is married to Leslie Smith, and they have five children. He is also a member of Park Avenue Church.
