Lowndes County Utility Department is dedicated to providing an exceptional product to all of our customers while exceeding all EPA and EPD rules and regulations pertaining to all aspects of water quality while offering unsurpassed customer service.

This department has a very fast growing water and wastewater system. We have grown from a small outdated community water system of 200 connections in the Twin Lakes area in the 1970's, to approximately 4600 current connections, maintaining approximately 139.83 miles of water lines and approximately 133.90 miles of sewer lines located within our service boundaries and is responsible for providing quality water and wastewater services.




2002-2003 Winner of the Georgia Water and Pollution Control Association's, Georgia's Best Operated Water Distribution System Award, in the small sized system category.
