County’s public safety organizations may contain a vast array of seemingly
unrelated duties; however, their mission remains constant:
Working together to provide the highest level of service and protection to all citizens, by promoting a safer community through prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, education and enforcement.
We do this by focusing on saving lives, providing efficient and effective services, maintaining public trust and developing strong partnerships.

Prevent mosquito-borne diseases. Follow the 5 D's:
- Dusk and Dawn (avoid being
outdoors when mosquitoes are seeking blood)
- Dress (wear clothing that covers skin)
- DEET (use mosquito repellents
including DEET on skin or clothing when outside)
- Drainage (dump standing
water where mosquitoes lay eggs)
