Commissioner Marshall Meets With U.S. Senator John Ossoff
Last Thursday, Dr. Demarcus Marshall, District 4, Lowndes County Board of Commissioners, was fortunate to meet with U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff. They discussed the abundance of resources now available from the federal government to Lowndes County through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and the upcoming infrastructure bill. They also discussed the importance of The American Jobs Plan (infrastructure bill) which is to be phased in over the next 8 years, he went into details of what the plan meant for Lowndes County, Georgia. Commissioner Marshall said he is proud to say the infrastructure bill would greatly benefit Lowndes County and our surrounding areas.
In addition, Senator Ossoff understands local concerns and is willing to stand up for Lowndes County in Washington, D.C. For those unaware, U.S. Senators are elected for a 6-year term. Senator Ossoff has over 5 ½ years left in this term.
While in Lowndes County, he toured the City of Valdosta, Valdosta State University, other parts of our community and met with local leaders.
