The Fire Marshal’s Office plays a vital role in protecting lives and property through proactive fire prevention, code enforcement and thorough investigations. This division is led by the Deputy Chief Fire Marshal and supported by two Captains and a Fire Life Safety Educator, each bringing expertise and leadership to their specialized areas.
The division is responsible for:
• Conducting fire and life safety inspections in commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential occupancies
• Reviewing building plans for code compliance
• Enforcing fire codes and ordinances
• Investigating the origin and cause of fires, including those involving criminal activity or suspicious circumstances
• Educating the public on fire prevention and safety measures
By working closely with property owners, developers, law enforcement and the community, the Fire Marshal’s Office ensures that fire safety standards are upheld and potential risks are identified before they become emergencies. Through inspections and investigations, this division supports the overall mission of LCFR to safeguard the community with professionalism, integrity and dedication.
